ALL NATURAL HAIR - This shares my hair journey back to my natural roots and thereafter. I transitioned from my relaxer for a year and did my BC on July 3, 2009. All information on this site is based on my experiences & opinions. I am not a certified hair anything, but I am becoming a certified expert on my hair. ;) I will also be throwing in some random gems I would like to share such as recipes, beauty tips, fashion & crafts goodies.

Different textures of hair on my head
Now I know, by getting back to natural, I have to let my hair do what it do....I guess I will just learn to work with it. In an effort to increase the texture in the front, this evening I decided to lightly dampen the front & section and twist into about 7 twists.

Definitely getting mentally ready to BC!
I decided if I still felt like this after the DC & shampoo, I would do it this evening....

Doing the deed....

One of my best comb outs!
Here's what I did this time:
- Prepooed with Ojon Restorative Pre-Cleansing Treatment. The label says leave it on for up to 5 minutes, but whatever, I put it on, went to the grocery store, & then rinsed it out.
- Shampooed with Ojon Tawaka Rejuvenating Cleanser. Conditioned with Ojon Tawaka Rejuvenating Conditioner for 5 minutes. Rinsed out.
- Sectioned hair into 4 sections and applied Giovanni Direct Leave-In. Applied HE Break's Over to each section as a leave-in. Combed out without very few tangles or knotting YEA!Sectioned each quarter section into 2 sections and did Bantu knots.
- After this I proceeded to go get my hair cornrowed by my mother, in the two layer style so I can pop on my half cap whenever I want.
I will definitely be using this method going forward. The only other thing that worked this well was the oil rinsing method I tried a few months back. I can't wait until my BC, when I can try the fingercoil method with the conditioner like the tightlycurly.com site recommends for the ultimate curl definition with no friziness.

2nd time with Maxiglide
So this wash day:
- I prepooed with the Ojon treatment overnight
- Washed with Ojon Hydrating Shampoo
- Deep conditioned with Ojon Hydrating Conditioner & EVOO
- Applied Beyond Straight Serum
- Sealed with Castor oil & placed in large 2 strand twists to air dry
- Air dried overnight
- Maxiglided the next morning
- Straight hair ooolala!!
The Maxiglide process was much smoother for me this time. I however am not used to the texture the hair reversion serum gave my hair....last time it was silky, this time not silky :( But it did resist moisture. I took a hot bath as a test, I just put a silk scarf on first before my bath and IT DID NOT SWELL UP, YEAH!!
I was did not like the texture of my hair AT ALL, so I heavily misted with water & sealed with coconut oil which helped immensely.
I wore my Maneclip in an up do and I thought it was pretty cute.

So want to cut my hair!
Wednesday, January 14
Today's regimen
- Pre-poo with coconut milk, EVOO & honey whipped up and applied with color applicator bottle to get to my new growth completely.
- Sit with heat cap 30 minutes.
- Rinse, shampoo with Giovanni 50/50 shampoo.
- Deep condition with blended egg whites, yogurt, honey & EVOO.
- Sit with heat cap another 30 minutes.
- Attempt ponytail rollerset as highlighted by Mane and Chic http://maneandchic.blogspot.com/2008/09/cheat-set-ponytail-rollerset.html
- Sit under Revlon Amber Waves Ionic Dryer until dry.
After my hair was dry, I flat ironed the root sections to straighten it out more. My hair was full, thick and seemed like it was relaxed again. This came out very well and I will most likely attempt this again.
