Blood Orange Juice Martini

I wanted to share my recipe for one of my seasonal all-time fav martinis.

Blood Orange Juice Martini

2 1/2 ounces mandarin vodka

1 1/2 ounces blood orange juice

1/2 ounce simple syrup

Dip the rim of your chilled martini glass in orange juice & then in sanding sugar (or the sugar of your choice).

Place above ingredients in a shaker 1/2 full with ice cubes.  Shake. Shake. Yep Shake it. (I hate it when bartenders don't sufficiently shake a martini to get a thin layer of ice crystals immediately after pouring into the glass).  Pour into prepared glass.  Enjoy!

Fall also = Cognac Martini

In addition to using pumpkin in everything I can think of in the fall, I am like a darker beverage to sip on, some brandy, cognac, Jack or Myers.  I pulled out my cognac & decided to make myself a nice chilled warming martini.  This is a serious drink, you will taste the alcohol.

Yak Martini
2 1/2 oz cognac (I like De Marsy XO)
1 oz limoncello ( I love Caravella)
1 oz Cointreau ( I used Controy, purchased in Mexico)
1/2 oz simple syrup (always have a batch in the fridge)
juice of half a lime (sadly I didn't have fresh which is the best)

Fill your shaker 1/2 full with ice, add all above ingredients.  Shake it like a Polaroid picture.  Pour into chilled martini glass & use a maraschino cherry for decoration.  Gaze at the ice crystals floating on the top!  ENJOY!

Grapefruit Fusion Lemon Drop Martini

After running out of Citron vodka for my much adored Lemon Drop Martini....I decided to try my Finlandia Grapefruit Fusion as a substitute. Into my ice-filled shaker I added:

•3 oz Finlandia Grapefruit Fusion Vodka

•1 oz Caravella Limoncello

•1 oz lemon juice

•3/4 oz simple syrup

SHAKE IT LIKE A POLAROID PICTURE.

Pour into your chilled martini glass & enjoy... I really like this grapefruit twist, I am on my second one...THANK GOODNESS FOR SPELLCHECK ;)
