Wash day

Today I did a shampoo with Giovanni 50/50, oil rinsed, and deep conditioned with the ORS pack with heat. I used Giovanni Direct for a leave in and sealed with castor oil. My hair hardly tangled at all during the combout! Yea!!

I did about 12 Bantu knots & just airdried. I plan to wear my half caps this week.

2nd time with Maxiglide

So this wash day:

  1. I prepooed with the Ojon treatment overnight

  2. Washed with Ojon Hydrating Shampoo

  3. Deep conditioned with Ojon Hydrating Conditioner & EVOO

  4. Applied Beyond Straight Serum

  5. Sealed with Castor oil & placed in large 2 strand twists to air dry

  6. Air dried overnight

  7. Maxiglided the next morning

  8. Straight hair ooolala!!

The Maxiglide process was much smoother for me this time. I however am not used to the texture the hair reversion serum gave my hair....last time it was silky, this time not silky :( But it did resist moisture. I took a hot bath as a test, I just put a silk scarf on first before my bath and IT DID NOT SWELL UP, YEAH!!

I was did not like the texture of my hair AT ALL, so I heavily misted with water & sealed with coconut oil which helped immensely.

I wore my Maneclip in an up do and I thought it was pretty cute.

Maxius Maxiglide !!!!

Ok, I couldn't resist anymore, I bought the Maxiglide XP from HSN! The demos were appealing, I was thinking it could assist me in prolonging my transition if I could straighten out my hair that easily and just use protective styling until the next wash day some of the time. Today is my off day so today is Maxiglide Day!!
I meant to prepoo overnight, but I was too tired after getting off at midnight. So I got up this morning here's what I did:
  1. Applied MT to scalp first independently.
  2. Then combined almond oil, Giovanni Smooth as silk deep conditioner, rosemary & cedar wood essential oils, applied to hair and put on my on heat cap for 30 minutes.
  3. Shampooed with Giovanni 50/50.
  4. Oil rinsed with a mix of EVOO, almond oil, Jamaican Mango & Lime Island Oil, rinsed with warm water.
  5. Applied a mix of conditioners Ojon hydrating conditioner & Matrix...... and put on heat cap for 30 minutes.
  6. Rinsed with cool water. Applied Mizani ThermaStrength Serum as a leave-in & sealed with Castor oil.
  7. Sectioned & detangled. Did large 2 strands twists for drying purposes since Maxiglide is done on dry hair :/
  8. Sit under dryer 1 hour.
  9. Maxiglide hair in sections as directed. I was able to do half of head in 20 minutes, which is pretty good in my opinion for the first time ever trying this( I have never flat ironed before even when relaxed). Completed my entire head, touched up spots which I kind of missed.
  10. This is A GOOD THING!!! I think I will definitely have more styling options with my transition now. I plan to just wear a bun for work in the morning and play with my hair more after work!!!
  11. This got my hair nice and straight from the roots down!!! However by midnight the next evening, my hair started looking...fluffy...like it was humidity BUT THERE WASN'T ANY :(

So want to cut my hair!

I so want to cut off my relaxed ends! I don't know how people make it 1 to 2 years transitioning....I guess they are just more patient than me. I tend to be frustrated when manipulating the 2 textures; independently I have no problem with either of them but combined is another story. Anyway just venting!

Today's regimen

Todays hair wash regimen:

  1. Pre-poo with coconut milk, EVOO & honey whipped up and applied with color applicator bottle to get to my new growth completely.
  2. Sit with heat cap 30 minutes.
  3. Rinse, shampoo with Giovanni 50/50 shampoo.
  4. Deep condition with blended egg whites, yogurt, honey & EVOO.
  5. Sit with heat cap another 30 minutes.
  6. Attempt ponytail rollerset as highlighted by Mane and Chic http://maneandchic.blogspot.com/2008/09/cheat-set-ponytail-rollerset.html
  7. Sit under Revlon Amber Waves Ionic Dryer until dry.

After my hair was dry, I flat ironed the root sections to straighten it out more. My hair was full, thick and seemed like it was relaxed again. This came out very well and I will most likely attempt this again.
